As we travel, one of our primary goals is to meet and interact with as many people as we can. Invariably when we return from a trip, it is the people we've met that have brought us the most joy and the fondest memories.
The sights, sounds, smells and textures of the places we visit are exhilarating. Some places are spectacular vistas. Others are quaint.
Regardless, they all are part of the tapestry of an adventure.

It’s the perspective we choose—not the places we visit—that ultimately tells us where we stand. Every time I take a trip, the experience acquires meaning and grows deeper only after I get back home and, sitting still, begin to convert the sights I’ve seen into lasting insights.
—Pico Iyer, “Adventures in Going Nowhere”
Hopefully as travelers rather than as tourists, we will be able to develop that perspective along the way.
We hope you enjoy seeing some of these People and Places.
Jyl and Marc Emerson and their dog, Sage, run an awesome B&B (teepee, trailer, or room in house) in Brookfield, VT.
We met Scott Hunt who owns Hunts Battlefield Fries and Cafe in Gettysburg. He charmed us with fascinating family history and stories.
